New College Durham's Counselling and Mental Health Support Service

Bev Baldasera

Bev Baldasera the College Counsellor is based in the Advice Support Careers (ASC) Department situated near main reception in the main College building.
The counselling service is available Monday-Thursday 8:30am-5pm and Friday 8:30am-4:30pm. We offer counselling support via face to face appointments, telephone and Skype. Tel: 0191 375 4400 to arrange an appointment.

Counselling offers you an opportunity to talk in a confidential setting, to someone who will not judge you. Careful listening is the main part of what a counsellor does and sharing your worries may help you feel less isolated.

Students who have Mental Health Issues can access support from Bev. Support may include help with course related issues, developing appropriate coping strategies, considering reasonable adjustments, and/or referring to appropriate local agencies to further meet individual support needs.
